About us

Romanian Gifted School

Romanian Gifted School, as an institution and a brand, was born in 2020, but the story of the school starts in 2011, when we started initiating educational programs for children with high abilities. We had just started the process of attracting European funds, initiating and testing specific programs, and in September 2020, in the midst of pandemic and social crisis, we opened the doors of the first school specifically for children with high abilities in Romania.

"How are the lives of children in the RGS community changing? When a great athlete stands out, it means that someone has valued their talent and hard work. The way he has trained, eaten, rested, worked on his mental set-up, propels him as high up the world rankings as possible. That's what happens to those who come to us. They find their direction, with the help of the right people."

Our mission

Our mission is to provide the right environment for the child to develop, by monitoring their abilities and personalizing the educational process. Romanian Gifted School aims to educate the child's character and to impart knowledge with practical, not just theoretical, applicability. To do this, we carefully analyze the psychological profile of each child - fluid intelligence (the figurative, logical one) and crystallized intelligence (the one acquired through language), social and emotional intelligence, behaviour.

Education is a process that requires building character and skills. Learning is the ability to hold knowledge from different fields and combine it in a creative, original, innovative way. The combination of the two helps today's child, tomorrow's adult to become a mensch.

We promote new and transdisciplinary educational approaches of national excellence through modern teaching tools.

We believe that adapting learning methods is important and should be aligned to the specific needs of all high ability children.

We promote dynamic training through self-discovery following psychological testing, involvement in activities related to the field of passion and motivation towards knowledge (personal and group projects, national and international competitions, volunteering for various causes, internship (14+)).

We carry out national and international strategic partnerships, information campaigns to increase children’s cooperativity.

Our Vision

Based on the research that only 3% of high ability children succeed in adult life, we want to create the framework for today’s children, tomorrow’s adults, through which they can find their independence and develop their creative side and potential.

Our Values

Testing

Testing behavioral, cognitive, emotional, and social intelligence quotients to understand the starting point in identifying each child's interests, abilities, and individual educational needs.

Learning

Continuous learning throughout life. As well as children, we involve parents and teachers to specialize and learn how to work with high ability children.

Tutoring

Tutoring - encouraging parents to get involved with their children/teenagers in the educational process.

Mentoring

Mentoring - both children/teenagers and parents/teachers are supported in the learning and teaching process by specialists involved in the programme from various fields (training, human resources, sales, public relations, communication, etc.).

Accelerating

Vertical acceleration (relates to the child) - increasing motivation, ability to understand one's own learning mechanism, acquisition of transversal skills, critical and horizontal thinking.

Advancing

Transdisciplinarity - we aim to combine as many different areas as possible and develop multiple intelligences (adapting to the differentiated requirements of each child in order to maximize potential).

Parenting

Parenting - discovering today's adult through self-analysis; encouraging self-knowledge to accept and understand the needs of one's own children.
